Uk boot sale legal advice?

can a person as a private seller ,not a trader

sell alchol and cigarettes at a boot sale

without holding a licence to sell alchol

is it a law of the land enforced law

or a local councils rules/ policy

would it differ from council to councilUk boot sale legal advice?
i was on a Sunday market /boot sale and notices was displayed no alcohol or cigarettes to be sold on this market

a guy was walking about the stalls asking if anyone wanted to buy cigarettes from him as he had pockets full etc and a plain clothes copper who was taking away dvds from a stall took the cig seller away as well

i think you are treading on dodgy ground you could risk having your stall and contents removed

if you are thinking of doing this ask the market boot sale organisers if this is ok with them if they say yes go for it but beware plain clothes coppers
