I'd DEMAND that the landlord replace the lock and let them know in no uncertain terms that if ANYTHING happens to her in the meantime because of their negligence, that your girlfriend will own the building. I would also go to the police and file a report WITH HIS NAME REVEALED and send a copy of the police report to the co-op. She shouldn't have to move - regardless of whether this guy is a big-time lawyer or a small-time crook, a ball has gotten dropped here and your girlfriend needs to keep on top of it %26amp; protect herself.Need legal advice girlfriend may be in danger.?
i agree with answer number one. and also in the mean time get a lock yourself, keep the reciept and deduct it from the rent.
i dont want to scare you or her, but i think shes in danger. tell her to move out!!! get a different apartment. i really dont think its a good idea for her to stay there.
by all means you should identify this guy, have him arrested and brought into court then, in exchange for dropping the charges, which, from what you describe, are a felony, ask for a settlement, since he is a multimillionaire, then start living good
go to the police station, get a lawyer and go to the media
