My husband was, what I believe, wrongfully terminated. What can we do?I need legal advice.?
You have to describe why and how he was terminated for us accurately answer your question. There are attorneys that handle these types of cases but the hardest thing is having evidence that can prove that he was wrongly terminated. For example age discrimination based on age, race, religion sexual orientation and gender, etc are valid reasons to see an attorney. Any other reason he is terminated usually can't be successfully pursued in court.I need legal advice.?
Other than violation of stipulated contractual obligations or union agreements, there are very little grounds for ';wrongful termination'; in the US anymore. Employers can terminate for good reason, bad reason or no reason at all, as long as it is not a discriminatory reason. If you believe your husband was discriminated against in his termination, on the basis of his membership in one of the legally protected classes (age, sex, religion, ethnicity, marital status, disability), then contact your local office of human relations or the federal EEOC office.
It's important to know where you are working and why you believe they have been wrongfully terminated. If your husband was working in a ';right-to-work'; state, there's nothing at all you can do, unless the termination was discriminatory.
go to the labor board good luck with it
