Legal advice: i have been paying off my phone and internet service by going to a cash checkers place?

and paying the bills there.





however, ATT say they never recieve the payments.


i lost one stub of 75 dollars. the second stub they told me to send off to the collections agency. i didn't make a copy of it, when they called me to complain of where the stub is i told them that i sent it off yet they didn't recieve it. so now i don't have proof of that 75 dollar payment as well. now i paid 159 dollars on the bill I DO HAVE THE STUB FOR THIS ONE and ATT said they didn't reicieve this one either.





the collections are calling me off the hook asking for their money. i tell them of what happened. but they keep harrassing me.





they shut off my internet. i called them. i told them i paid 159. they said they saw it in the system and turned it back on. so they saw it but ATT are saying they don't have it.





whats going on here?





should i take legal moves and who should i take to court. check cashers place or ATT?

Hi Mona I talked to Hubby and he say's if you have no evidence with recipts or paper proof Its down the drain to fight them. Which just is not fair. Sorry hun I wish there was a way to fight them. I have heard Pay day loan places are big rip off companys they probably have your money. you need receipts go to bank get statements send them off to the company if they harass you still go see a lwayer they are not allowed to harass you legally
quit worrying about sueing and winning -- just get everyone to agree you do not owe any money and than open a checking account and use a bank to pay your bills -- it would have to be cheaper!!!
Maybe you should be learning your lesson and keeping copies of everything you do.





Why don't you open a checking account and write personal checks?
If you don't have any proof of payment then you don't have a leg to stand on. And lawyer fees and court costs are going to be three times more than $159 phone bill at least. Your first step is to never go to a check cashing/ payday advance establishment again, ever! In your life! Stay Away!





Pay your bills directly through the companies, if you don't have a checking account, go to WalMart and pay with a money order. If you stay away from the check cashing place, and work your problems out through ATT you'll be fine.





ATT is a huge, customer-non-friendly company. You have to be patient with them because they will not be patient with you. Call them and explain your situation and ask for a direct extension so you can speak to the same person everytime you call. Mail them copies of the payment stubs and proof of your payments.





Good luck. Stay away from PAYDAY LOAN COMPANIES!!! They are the countries biggest scammers!
