Legal Advice (ish)?

A new salon opened near me, they were doing an offer on sunbed sessions, so I went in. I filled in the card, saying I was medium skinned but freckly and took a while to tan. As it was a new salon with different beds, I asked a lady in the salon what she recommends I should go, as some beds I can go on for 20 minutes, but some only 3, depending on their power etc. She advised 9 would be ok - so I went with it.

I am SERIOUSLY burnt, I've had to take two days off work as I can't get dressed and I cannot sleep. I rang the salon on the first day and they agreed to extend my weeks unlimited session to two weeks, as obviously I wouldn't be tanning within a week now. But now another day has passed, I'm even more sore, and feel that I want more - am I able to sue them for something like this - or take it further? I paid 拢22, so the first option would be a refund? But I'm also disgusted that they advised me so wrong - they are a new salon so could be doing it to everyone!Legal Advice (ish)?
Go to the doctor. Go to a solicitor.Legal Advice (ish)?
I'm just amazed that there is anyone left on the planet who doesn't know that these things burn you and give you skin cancer.

Where have you been?

I'll bet you don't know that cigarettes give you lung cancer either.

And when you rang them they ';agreed'; to extend your sessions to two weeks!!!!!!

Please, please, please tell me that you told them you were already burnt enough.

As my old gran used to say, ';You have to suffer to be beautiful.';
So what if you look like a lobster and hurt like crazy. Most everyone has been sunburned at some time. Suing is so dumb. Get real. Suck it up and quit wining about it, it won't make it feel better.

I suppose you should maybe get a refund though, but nothing else.
Assuming the woman you asked was a salon employee, you can sue them for damages. She was a staffer who advised you. She was representing the salon. The salon is responsible for her actions.

You can recover for lost income on the days you could not work, medical treatment, pain and suffering, and recover the price you paid. You may even be able to recover additional monetary damages for them having increased your likelihood of future skin diseases.

Letting them give you a refund would be letting them off too easily.

See your doctor now. Get everything photographed and documented.
