Need legal advice Re: mental & physical abuse?

My friend is being abused mentally and physically by her husband. he is very clever to only hurt her on parts of her body that don't show i.e her stomach etc.

She has a young daughter that she shields from this and pretends all the world is well. I have told her to leave him but her biggest problem is that 2 years ago she had a kidney transplant and is on his medical aid. He has threatened her that he will cut off all support, medical and financial if she should leave him. He has major contacts and connections in the legal field and has also told her she will loose her daughter and everything she owns if she goes against him. he has said he will drag her name thru the mud and destroy her. Unfortunately he has plenty of bucks and she is dependent on him. We live in South africa so anyone with a knowledge of our law, Please Help me help her.Need legal advice Re: mental %26amp; physical abuse?
firstly, as a friend, take both her daughter and herself to come live with you. then, you start the paperwork. you might be wondering how about her and stuff but isn't it better to cut off all support from the jerk? find someone suitable out there for the lord provides and i don't think that jerk is the one. major contacts? once she leaves him, all these major contacts would know his true colours and do you think they would want to help a scumbag like him? even if they didn't mind they wouldn't have the heart to help him anymore. she can't lose her daughter if she's competing against such a abusive person. she does have marks so just show the law and i'm sure the law has to help her! stand up for justice and protect both mother and child no matter what it takes. you could go approach some organisations specialising in this or approach some church members (if you're christian) for they are good people and will help. don't succumb to him and although this may sound weird and corny, the good always triumphs over evil. don't be intimidated for he can't do anything to you if you speak the truth and only the truth.Need legal advice Re: mental %26amp; physical abuse?
I do not know about South Africa but I am pretty sure if she files for divorce and take photos of the abuse, witnesses, and records the rantings of the man then she can have him for lunch and get custody of her child.
I don't know South African law, but anybody in that situation needs to get out on the ASAP!
